Brian Lilletvedt was born in Great Falls, Montana. He attended public schools in Great Falls and graduated from Charles M. Russell High School in 1971. Brian received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Montana with honors in 1975. He graduated from the University of Montana School of Law in 1978. After graduation Brian clerked for the Honorable William E. Hunt, Sr., Montana’s first Worker Compensation Court Judge.
Brian began his private practice in Havre, Montana and was a partner in the law firm of Altman & Lilletvedt. In 1984 he joined his present firm and became a partner in the firm in 1986. Brian is a member of the State Bar of Montana and is admitted to practice in all Montana State Courts, the U.S. District Courts in Montana and the Blackfeet Tribal Court, Chippewa-Cree Tribal Court and Fort Belknap Indian Community Court. Brian is a member of the Montana Trial Lawyers Association and a past president of the Montana Defense Trial Lawyers. Brian has extensive community service involvement; he is a member and past president of the local Rotary Club, past president of the Havre Chamber of Commerce, past president and board member of the MSU Northern Foundation, and past president of the Hilltop Recovery Center, an inpatient alcohol-treatment program in Havre.
Brian’s practice areas include: civil litigation, family law, employment law, insurance defense and criminal law.
